Pan Brownies

Who doesn’t love brownies?  Moist, chewy, chocolaty…. what more could any person want?  Besides a personal chef to make it for you of course.  Maybe brownies smothered in ice-cream and hot fudge? Alas, this is just the plain jane brownie, but plain jane is perfectly good on its own.  Like all my entries before this, I have you covered on the simplicity scale – because this recipe is dead simple.  This is a very basic brownie recipe that can be scaled for as much as you need, or want.  As it is right now, this is a perfect dessert for two people (or one person if you have self-control issues like me).

So without further ado,

Heres what you will need:

  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2.5 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp instant coffee powder
  • 1/2 cup flour

What you need to do:

Grease and flour the bottom of your baking pan and preheat your oven to 350 Fahrenheit.

In medium-sized mixing bowl, blend melted butter sugar and vanilla together.

Add egg, cocoa powder and coffee powder and stir until egg is fully incorporated.

Add flour and mix until just combined.

Pour into pan and bake for 20 minutes.

Alterations:

Add 1/4 cup roasted walnuts, pecans or chocolate chips.

Oven times may vary.
